If you haven’t guessed by now, I love Autumn. One of my favourite things about the season is definitely fall makeup. I just adore warm browns, burnt oranges, reds and coppers. I feel like I could live in a world where it was Autumn all year round and never get sick of it. One of my go to looks this season has been this warm toned smokey eye with a brown-red lipstick. For more details on how I achieved this look and the products I used keep reading!
To begin, I used my Tarte Rainforest of The Sea Foundation in the shade Fair Light Neutral, I am obsessed with this foundation as it’s water based so it feels so light on the skin but it still builds up to a really good coverage. I hate the heavy feeling of full coverage foundations so this one is perfect for me! It’s also SPF 15 and 100% vegan so it’s a win-win. I apply using a foundation brush and then blend with a damp beauty blender sponge to get an even finish. Next up I conceal using my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade 01. I honestly can’t rave about this concealer enough, it’s super pale so perfect for porcelain skinned gals like me, gives amazing coverage and blends like a dream, all for under £5! I use this to conceal and highlight under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose, and to cover up any blemishes, blending again with my damp beauty blender sponge. To contour under my cheek bones I used my Nars Matte Multiple in Altai and blended with a flat blending brush. For blush, I’ve used Tarte’s Coloured Clay Bronzer Blush in Park Ave Princess with an angled blusher brush on the apples of my cheeks. Finally, to highlight I’ve used The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer, this is definitely a desert island product for me. I own 101 highlighters but still find myself reaching for this one every time! I smother all the high points of my face like my cheek bones, brow bones, the bridge of my nose with this baby using my real techniques setting brush for a blinding highlight every time!
Brows & Eyes
For my brows I used Tarte Waterproof Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse in Medium Brown with an angled brush to fill in any sparse areas and create an arch, I then used this Kiko Full Coverage Concealer in 01 Light with a concealer brush to define along my brow bone. I also used this concealer to prime the eyelids before shadow. For the eyes I used this beautiful Morphe 35w Palette, which I featured in this affordable eyeshadow palettes post (here). This palette is perfect for fall, it features gorgeous neutrals, warm oranges, as well as smoky purples and a stunning glittery black shade. I have used this palette almost everyday this season. To start off, I blended shade 1 into the crease to create a transition using a fluffy brush, I then defined this using shade 2 in the crease and blended this out for a warmer look. Next up I used shade 3 in the outer crease to give that gorgeous blend of the burnt red and orange tones. For the outer lid, I packed on shade 4 which is a stunning orange shade to really make this look pop, I then added shade 5 which is an intense pigmented coppery gold over the top. I then blended shade 6 onto the lid and inner corner of my eye using my finger for an intense pigment. To finish off the eyes I used Tarte’s Tarteist Mascara for super long fluttery lashes!
For the lips I used the Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick in the shade Ashton. This shade has become my absolute fave for fall, it’s such a gorgeous warm midtone brown shade which makes it perfect for Autumn and it suits this look perfectly.
