It’s no secret that buying and collecting makeup can get expensive. There are so many different brands bringing out new products every 5 minutes and sometimes your bank balance doesn’t allow you to indulge in these luxurious products, or when you do they end up not being worth the price! One thing I can’t seem to stop
hoarding collecting are eye shadow palettes, I just can’t resist the temptation of all these beautiful colours all displayed temptingly together in pretty packaging. I know I won’t end up using half of the shades but still I am lured in every time. Eye shadow palettes can be expensive, high end brands can go from anything like £30 to £50+, which for some people, especially if you’re not hugely confident wearing eye shadow in the first place, is far too much to be splurging out. But fear not! There are some great quality alternatives to these high priced palettes which perform just as well (if not better!). I’ve got together my 4 top affordable (and cruelty free!) eye shadow palette picks, I’m sure all you frugal make up lovers are going to adore!
Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadow Palette – Flawless Matte
This eye shadow palette should be a staple in anyone’s makeup collection. I honestly don’t remember the last time I didn’t use this palette for an eyeshadow look! I was on the search for a perfect matte palette with a great variety of neutral/dark shades I can use together or as a base/transition for other eye looks. All 32 colours are so pigmented and suit all different skin tones/eye colours. And boy do these babies blend effortlessly! I am obsessed with this palette and for only £8, working out just £0.25 per shade, you’ve no excuses not to pick this one up! You can find it on the Makeup Revolution website here, or at your local Superdrug.
The Body Shop Down to Earth Palette – Smoky Plum*
This Down to Earth eyeshadow quad from The Body Shop is definitely the perfect palette for on the go. It features 4 perfect shades and a great mirror all in a sleek, handy travel-friendly compact. The Body Shop have also released 4 other quads as well as an 8 shade palette in the range. The shades are ultra-pigmented, you can use them dry or wet for a more intense look. The shadows pop out of the base meaning you can add them to your own Z palette too. The palette includes a step by step guide on how to create the perfect look which makes this great for makeup newbies! I can already tell I’m going to get plenty of use out of this gorgeous product. It’s super affordable at £15, just £3.75 per shade. You can pick it up online here or at your local TBS store.
Morphe Palette – 35w
I had been lusting over the whole Morphe eyeshadow collection for a while, when I decided to just bite the bullet and order myself the 35w palette, and I am so glad I did! I have honestly fallen in love with this palette, the shadows are so buttery and smooth they literally apply like velvet and they are so pigmented it’s unbelievable. This palette has so many gorgeous shades from rich purples to coppery golds and neutrals it is definitely a gorgeous palette to use all year round, with endless look possibilities depending on your mood! The palette costs only £19.50, just £0.55 per shade which is an absolute steal. You can grab this one over on beautybay.com here. The quality of these shadows tops some of my high end eyeshadows which are double the price! I can see my Morphe eyeshadow collection growing very soon.
Freedom Makeup Pro Artist Pad – Black Arts*
Last, but certainly not least, we have the Freedom Makeup Pro Artist Pad in Black Arts. This sleek, sexy palette is to die for. It features a whopping 48(!!!) highly pigmented matte, metallic and shimmer eyeshadows to suit all your colour needs! Like the Morphe palette, these shadows are highly pigmented, apply and blend like a dream and above all last and last. If you’re a neutral eyeshadow lover, then this palette is really all you need. At only £15, the Pro Artist Pad is definitely a fantastic value palette working out at only £0.31. You can pick it up here or at your local Superdrug. I have already had so much use out of these shadows and I can’t wait to create even more gorgeous looks!
So there you have it! Proof that fab eyeshadow palettes don’t have to break the bank! I absolutely love these 4 picks, they are all such great value for money with high quality, long lasting pigmented shades. Above all they are all 100% cruelty free, so no bunnies were harmed for your eye shadow to look on point! There’s really not a lot more you could ask for.
