Now, I’m sure anyone who has ever coloured their hair, whether it be darker, lighter, highlights or all over colour, the biggest downside is roots. Hair regrowth happens whether you like it or not and it is unrealistic to be able to maintain your roots constantly! I have been colouring my hair since I was around the age of 15, so roots have pretty much always been apart of my life! It seems as soon as you get your hair done, those pesky roots seem to grow in quicker. I certainly can’t afford to visit the salon every fortnight to maintain my blonde tresses so I was very pleased when I got offered to review The Hair Experts Root Touch-Up!
The product itself comes in a handy sized compact which fits perfectly in your make up bag or even in your clutch! It comes with a decent sized mirror and a double ended brush. I preferred the shorter side as it was more dense and I was able to pack more product onto my roots. I opted for the shade cool-blonde which is currently their lightest shade as I have more ash toned highlights in my hair, however if you have white blonde or grey hair this colour will work for you too! If you’re more of a golden blonde I would opt for the next shade down. The Hair Experts has been designed so you can quickly and conveniently cover up any roots or greys on dry or styled hair, even on the go!
Apologies for the dodgy pictures, it’s pretty difficult to take a photo of the top of your head! Now, my roots are pretty despicable, I know. They don’t look that bad when my hair is down, honest! But when I wear my hair in a ponytail or a bun, the regrowth of my highlights is pretty noticeable. As you can see the Root Touch-Up makes such a difference and completely freshens up my highlights giving a completely natural look. The product is so easy to use, I just pulled my hair tight and packed plenty of product on the brush and applied from my roots to my highlights. You can build up a stronger coverage with more product and play around with lighter coverage to create different tones for a completely natural look. Simply wash your hair to remove the product. It really is as easy as that.
Overall, I am really pleased with The Hair Experts. The product itself works really well and is so easy to use. Its packaging is great and it is super travel friendly. I have been wanting a product like this for a while but was always put off by the pricier options, The Hair Experts Root Touch-Up is only £9.99 and is exclusive to Boots so there are now no excuses to have unsightly roots any more!
